Dr. Wright, Chief Analyst at WRT Associates is a highly experienced technical executive with an extensive background in semiconductor, electronic, optical, display and optoelectronic technology development leading to new products and businesses. He has contributed to several industries including communications, consumer electronics, wireless handsets, information displays, engineering services, and defense electronics. Dr. Wright’s background includes roles at start-up and Fortune 500 companies with functional responsibilities comprising: start-up and development of new technology platforms; product development and commercialization; staffing and team building; customer engagement; general management; strategic alliances; company acquisition and integration; program management; business development; facilities development; and manufacturing operations.

Recently, Dr. Wright has served as a consultant to US and European businesses and to the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) in the areas of market analysis, business development, and commercialization of new products and technologies. Previously, Dr. Wright managed display technology development at Motorola. At Motorola he helped establish the Displays Division of the Consumer Systems Group. The Displays Division was formed to market and manufacture low power, high information content displays for portable products such as cell phone handsets and digital cameras. Dr. Wright began his career in development at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ where he researched and developed laser designs and fabrication processes for high reliability lasers to be used in the first transatlantic optical communication system.
